In the Northern Hemisphere in 2017 and 2018 brought several destructive hurricanes to the shores of North America, the Caribbean, and throughout the Pacific rim. Such extreme weather events are predicted to get more common and more severe with increasing climate change.
Several participating classes in the ISCFC were or are in the path of these storms and we hope for the best for them, their families and communities.
We would love to hear from students affected directly and indirectly by extreme weather events, and also any students who have been following the news this summer.
What are your thoughts about the connection between climate change and extreme weather events? Has this hurricane season increased your concern about climate change or not? Do you think that US citizens and residents (and others in the region) will take climate change more seriously now?

Weather Affecting lives
The weather is just a cycle of up and down temperatures everyday here in the Bay Area, but like in places like Arizona or New Jersey it has a consistent temperature. I picked Arizona and New Jersey due to the fact that I have family that live there. In Arizona, the temperature is very hot and humid which can make people pass out or have heat strokes. I have had a family member pass out due to the heat because they just simply couldn't take it, but they ended up being okay though. While In New Jersey, the weather is more cold and windy which can be dangerous as well. It can be dangerous because Hurricanes can come in and kill many which happened. Luckily none of my family members were affected but many others were. The temperatures all around the world can put your life and your family's lives in risk which is scary and alarming.
