Many people only think they know what is recyclable and what is actually trash. In reality we can re-use a lot more materials than we think. It could be as simple as re-using a container that came with a take out meal for storing food in the fridge. Getting a water filter for a faucet instead of buying plastic water bottles. Also sometimes people are lazy and just consider most things as trash, but by taking that extra 10 seconds to figure out the correct way to dispose of something, it could really help reduce landfill in the long run. Finding new ways to re-use things, especially containers, is a great start to becoming more creative with recycling. For example buying products that offer refillable options, like razors and things with more durable materials, like cloth bags.
