Adoption Uses the 3 RRRs
Today my husband and I attended the Jacksonville, Fl (USA) Mega Pet Adoption Event. Our cat Maxx has been lonely since his sister went with my daughter a few months ago so we decided to get him a play mate. A little history: both Maxx and his sister Star had been rescued as kittens. A women had seen them along with their siblings being tossed into a retention pond (where there are alligators). She was able to save several of them, the kittens were barely a few weeks old. Several did not survive, Maxx and his sister were the only ones and we adopted them when they were 6 months old. Both were fixed and had all their shots. Maxx is now 4 years old and a big beautiful tabby cat.
Today we now have Pumpkin, she is a 7 month old black cat as like Maxx is fixed and has her shots. She had bright pumpkin colored eyes. Adopting a pet is a very responsible way to follow the three R's. Both Pumpkin and Maxx are rescued cats who were tossed away due to over population. Rather than destroy them they are fixed and giving to a family who will raise and love them all their lives.
It do es not go just one way. Medical Science has found that people who own pets live longer, are happier, and feel better. Adopting a rescue pet can help both ways. So today we welcome Pumpkin into our lives.
