It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Refillable bottles
Last year the average American used 167 disposable water bottles. Of these 167, only 37 were recycled. I use a refillable water bottle. Using a refillable bottle has greatly reduced how much plastic I use. Although refillable bottles cost more than the ones you can just throw away, they can be used over and over, so really the higher cost is worth it. These bottles can be washed and refilled with different drinks. Not to mention, they come in so many different colors and sizes. In my family of six people, we all use refillable bottles. If just one person bought and used a refillable bottle, think of how much plastic they alone could save!

I agree! My school has a lot of water fountains that can refill water bottles. It's really helpful and it saves a lot of money. This website: http://www.thechroniclenwi.com/2010/08/ … r-bottles/ shows the cost of a reusable water bottle vs. disposable water bottles.
I agree! Using reusable water bottles can greatly decrease the amount of plastic that is used in the world. This website below shows just how many water bottles are used in the United States a year and how it affects our environment.

Reusable water bottles are very cute and also very useful. Not only do they reduce the number of plastic water bottles that are thrown away they also might be healthier too. According to http://www.brighthub.com/environment/gr … 36520.aspx water that comes in plastic water bottles can possibly be contaminated with germs from where the water is collected. It also said that refilling plastic water bottles is not a good idea because chemicals from the water bottle may get into the water. So grab a cute reusable water bottle and your good to go!
