It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Reuse & Re-purpose
Ollin candy wrapper bags is just one example of an Eco-friendly way to re-purpose candy wrappers. This introduces the idea that we can re-purpose even the smallest things, even if we believe that it's too small to make a difference. In the long run it could be devastating towards our environment. This got me to thinking about what I throw away and how I could reuse it. I realized that my family throws away more organic food than we eat. My first thought is to go to the grocery store already fed, so I don't grab food I don't need and my second is that maybe I could compost all this food. Now I know you can't compost all types of food for sanitary purposes and that a composting bin does take some work. But I believe that not just my family will be benefited by this, but that my entire community could be benefited. I have seen community gardens before and never really gave much thought to them. Now I see that they're a wonderful idea that not only produces locally grown food, but is a never-ending cycle. You use the spoiled veggies to make compost to grow more veggies and t hen you start over.I'm just thinking of all the times I have thrown away spoiled fruits or veggies, when I could've used them to make compost and benefit the garden my mom's starting. This is my idea on how we can reuse the spoiled food we don't give much thought too.
