Reuse & Repurpose

It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Share your ideas for extending the “lives” of the items that we buy and use, and their packaging as well!

Old Tech is just sold; Reuse is better than recycle in some cases

I think we all have something that we liked, and then broke it (if not, just me I guess).  After something stops working, what becomes of it?  How does our old technology affect the world?   A lot of the time, our e-waste goes to the dump, because people don’t really care and it’s convenient.  Out of sight out of mind, or at least for now.  Go get the new iPhone why don’t you?  Even when we do e-waste things, or use an e-waste collector, they could just be exporting it for the scrap metal and make people in other countries simply look through everything to find the good pieces in a factory somewhere.  Jim Puckett, the executive director of the Basel Action Network, says “Reuse is always more environmentally sound. If you can give that an extra life — an extra couple years — and so refurbishing is really what you want your recycler to do.”  (http://www.npr.org/2010/12/21/132204954 … onic-waste)  Something you can do with old stuff is  give it a new use, or just keep it and look at it.  (http://electronicrecyclers.com/2015/07/ … ur-e-waste) has some pretty good examples.
