Reuse & Repurpose

It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Share your ideas for extending the “lives” of the items that we buy and use, and their packaging as well!

Reusing food to make more food

Kuiervoel

Every time you have a meal with your family, there's probably some food left over than no one ever eats later. Instead of throwing this away, get your family to start a compost pile. After some time, you can use this compost pile to grow some vegetables in your own garden, and by doing this, you put uneaten food that would have otherwise been thrown away to great use. This allows you to both decrease the amount of trash that your family makes every week, and provides you with free compost and a method of making more food in an eco-friendly manner.

What I have just read is maybe one of the best proposales ever, and by using this we can also help homeless people, we can get to a deal in which they make the compost and grow the vegetables in your garden, and they recieve money, and the vegetables they produce, this is not just helping homeless people this is also helping your society, ando our envoirement

I find this idea really great! My family always has a lot of leftovers, and we usually throw them away. I think that growing your own vegetables from this compost pile would be awesome. Instead of buying vegetables from your local supermarket (you don't know where these veggies are coming from), you can eat your own vegetables where you know every step that was taken before you eat. What else do you think we could do with this compost?

Hi everyone, that idea is great, we could save a lot of things like you've said money, and save trash, I mean that these reduces the garbage levels. If we make these a reality, the environment in some way would be more clean and way better than the one that we are having right now. A lot of things would be different and better.
