People remember to reuse big items, such as plastic bags, clothes, trash bags, etc, but sometimes people forget to reuse smaller items. One such item is dryer sheets. If you didn't know, dryer sheets are thin sheets of paper-like material that are thrown into the dryer to keep the clothes soft, fresh, and smelling good. After one use, most people throw them out. But, there are many ways to reuse dryer sheets. For example, using dryer sheets to clean electronics. Because electronics such as PCs or televisions are electronically charged, they naturally attract dust. Which means never dusting them is not a choice. Dryer sheets are naturally designed to reduce static cling, by removing dust, and help keep it from resettling. Using dryer sheets to clean your electronics is a great way to reuse them. Another way to reuse dryer sheets is cleaning up messes in the kitchen, especially dry spills, such as flour. Flour can be difficult to clean up, because it is so fine. You end up wasting paper towels and water trying to clean up the flour. When using dryer sheets to clean up flou r, the flour ends up naturally sticking onto the sheets. Dryer sheets can easily clean any dry spills, and even small hair clippings.

I didn't know that dryer sheets had so many purposes! If small uses like these were made public knowledge it would make a big impact on our waste production. I think that I will start to reuse dryer sheets and look for other small items that I can recycle.
