It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Recycled Scrapbook
This is my first year of high school. I am a ninth grader and my best friend is as well. Our old school only went to grade eight and then we would have to go to a new high school. Sadly, we wouldn’t go to the same school. I decided to make a scrapbook for her and was inspired by this tutorial online that showed a scrapbook made out of paint, old cereal boxes, and few other things. I copied the basic design and then added a few personal touches. I printed out pictures and then used newspaper and some glue to make a sturdy cover. I gave it to my friend about three days ago and she loved it. This whole process took about two months but was well worth it. Besides the paint and pictures, everything else was either recycled or homemade from something we were going to throw out. Sadly, it did not occur to me to take a picture of the finished product but I do have the tutorial link.--> http://youtu.be/Ec04rVh0ndU Instead of buying a new scrapbook, I strongly suggest makin g your own and reducing some of the cereal and/or cardboard boxes you are going to throw away. It makes a great gift and you are reusing and recycling!
