Reuse & Repurpose

It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Share your ideas for extending the “lives” of the items that we buy and use, and their packaging as well!

Simple gestures can reduce your carbon footprint....

A few days ago in my class we spoke about plastic bags and how they can be polluting. They are very difficult to destroy so it's advised to use reusable bags or reuse more than one time the same plastc bag. Other things I do to reduce my carbon footprint is to use paper on both sides, I don't buy everytime a new bottle for the water because I have a reusable one and I go to school with public transport.

I agree with you and I think that it's from the simple gestures that we must begin, because there are a lot of things made by plastic or paper that we can reuse, but we don't offen think about this. For example we can reuse also the paper of the gift packaging if it's still enough intact. I remember that my art teacher in the medium school asked we if we could bring some milk cartons to reuse it putting the paint when we used the colors to painting. I think that for creative activities there are a thousand  ways to reuse these materials.

Some simple gestures you can do to reduce your carbon footprint can include using public modes of transportations more often, turn off lights after you leave a room, reduce your shower time by 3 minutes (it adds up), carpooling to school, or don't run the washer or dryer unless a full load of laundry is in.
