It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Reuse Plastic Bags
Plastic Bag is one of the worst inventions in the world. It is helpful but at the same time it can pollute the environment. It exists in the earth and since there is no way to solve the plastic pollution yet, shouldn't we reuse it? If every one has the awareness that we should reuse the plastic bags, we can solve the problem very soon.
I agree with you! Whenever I go to the grocery store, I come home with too many bags. Some people use reusable shopping bags, or they can reuse the plastic bags at home. I keep my plastic bags and use them for storing things, for small trash bags, to pack food for lunches, and even more! So while they are seemingly bad for the environment, if could reuse them for plenty of other things, we could reduce some of the plastic in landfills. Another option for after reusing these bags is to recycle them. Many stores such as Target or Walmart have recycling bags in their stores for you to leave your old bags in. Then they recycle all of the extra plastic they collect. There are plenty of options on how to help reduce the pollution of plastic bags.

I agree with you! I think plastic bags are a very useful invention if we use it with intelligence, but it can be a very bad invention when we use it without moderation. Bags in plastic (and all the other objects in plastic) are fantastic because they are impermeable, resistant and light, but they are really polluting for the earth and dangerous for animals who don’t know what they are and they eat them! I think we can stop this terrible situation, doing some simple things. For example, when we go shopping we can reuse our plastic bags more time or use a normal bag for the purchases and not take a new plastic bag all the time! If everyone takes fewer plastic bags from the shop, the shops are going to give away less bags and we pollute less! Moreover, I think that if we buy vegetables and fruits we can choose the variety with the lesser quantity of plastic packaging. Another thing that we can do to help our planet is that we mustn't throw away the plastic garbage in the street, but we have to use the correct recycling points, so the plastic cannot go in strange places like the middle of the ocean or the stomach of a bird. By simply bringing a reusable bag to the grocery store we will reduce mass amounts of plastic bags produced each year.
It’s practically a tradition for my family to use tote bags and other reusable bags for groceries. But it is odd that whenever leave 5 miles out of Seattle you start seeing a ton of plastic bags flying around, whereas they are rare to see in Seattle. For example, Bellevue, which is extremely close to Seattle, has plastic bags everywhere. When I was little(er) my dad asked me why there might be so many plastic bags around. I said that it might be because Bellevue isn’t close to the water. He said,
“No, Bellevue is built around Lake Washington. Do you know why they still have plastic bags over here?”
He said it was because it was a republican city ._.
Aside from the political conflict, I think that we should spread our “no plastic bags” law, especially in coastal areas, because plastic finds its way to the water way too easily.
Minor edit: Whenever I leave Seattle*
I defiantly recommend bringing a reusable bag every time you go shopping and I agree that there should be a no plastic bag law.
Just recently we've been bringing reusable bags / tote bags to the grocery store with us so we don't have to waste any bags or use plastic. We realized we were going through so many bags a year for a family of four. Now that we reuse our bags, we have become more resourceful while also helping the earth.
It would be a lot better for everyone to start bringing our own reusable bags to go shopping.
i agree. if we all got use to using reusable bags we could get to a point where plastic bags are no longer needed
