It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Bottles of water or cans can be used for art projects. Just look up DIY videos on youtube for ways to use the tin cans that you don't really want to throw away. You can reuse paper for notes or crafts. Take those little aluminum things on soda cans that you use to open them... make jewelry (people make purses out of those things). Also, if you buy a pack of soda's, and you take off the plastic circles that connect them all, make sure to cut them with scissors so that they don't get stuck around animal's heads. If you throw it away it will most likely end up in the ocean and around a turtle's neck.
I totally agree what you said. A lot of things around us can be reused. They can be used for art project, or reuse them for different way to use.

I agree with what Sophie said. Many people reuse random objects to make art and even useful items. But I also believe that we could reduce the amount of objects that cannot be reused in a useful way. For example, we should stop producing plastic. Plastic is bad for the environment but it is true that you can reuse it. But you can only reuse it to some extent, eventually the plastic can no longer be reused and will end up being bad for the environment.
I agree with Sophie. We can reuse plastic to make art and even submit the art to museums (Monterey bay has trash art) which can be put on display.
Making art out of our waste is a good idea, but would be even better to find things that most people need and regularly use. If enough people use/make them reduce the purchase and production of the of the original product which will save carbon.
