It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Make Some Trash Art
When you have trash it isj usually colorful and fun to squish. If you were to save up a large quantity of trash you could form it with stickier trash into a sculpture. But do not think of this as a joke because there is a greater and more thoughtful message in this form of art. It can show people that there are unlimited possibilities when using something as simple as trash. Trash can have more a purpose and instead of maybe putting it into a landfill you can make some trash art.
Love your idea!!! Trash can be re-used in so many ways rather than just being sent to the landfill. We are seeing this as we have FUN doing our Rube Goldberg projects with Mr. Goss. The trash can also have a purpose and take the place of something that would've required energy and emissions to produce.
I completely agree with what Benji has said. I looked up some trash art and it actually looks really cool. (http://www.voanews.com/content/san-fran … 12176.html) I think that it is a helpful and easy way to reuse and save waste. I think that at school, in art classes we should make trash art because it is promoting saving the planet and it could showcase your artistic talents. I also agree with Jacqueline about how our FUN Rube Goldberg project could be the start of trash art at Bishop O'dowd. In our project we are trying to reuse many pieces of wood, plastic, etc. to incorporate into our project to help reduce our waste, so hopefully when we finish, it will be almost like a trash art machine. ![]()
Great thinking Benji. This will prevent our landfill from overflowing and we will be able to handle trash on our own rather than having factories create it into something else. I also like your contribution, Anna. Creating this type of art in schools would be a good use of time and it would also be mandatory for students to take action on this idea.
Trash art can actually be really cool; this article talks about some artists who made shadow sculptures: http://blogs.wsj.com/scene/2014/01/22/t … culptures/
