It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Repurpose Plastic
It is very important to recycle, but before you do, try to reuse or repurpose the item as many times as possible. There are many easy ways to reuse things that are usually thrown away. Plastic bags can be used for lunches, groceries, or as a trash bag. Plastic bottles can be reused as a water bottle many times, it can be used for plants, or as an art project. Before you throw something in the recycling try and find a way to reuse or repurpose it.
I agree. Reusing plastic bags so that it can used for lunches, groceries, or as a trash bag is a great idea. I also like how you talked about reusing plastic water bottles many times and not recycling it as soon as your done drinking all of the water.
I agree as well. Reusing and repurposing things that would go to the landfill otherwise is a great way to lower your carbon footprint. Lots of packaging and plastic products can be reused or repurposed for other things.
I agree, reusing items is just as important as recycling. Reusing plastic items is going to be better for our environment and our carbon footprint. This can prevent us from adding waste to the great pacific garbage patch. The great pacific garbage patch is made up of our waste, mostly plastic. This website http://education.nationalgeographic.org … age-patch/ tells us ways we can fix the problem.
I feel as though repurposing things is not used enough. Far too often we have people simply throw away bags or water bottles or boxes, when they could be repurposed and be given another meaning. For example, refilling up a plastic water bottle before throwing it away stops you from wasting twice as much plastic. Another way to cut back on your waste is by reusing your paper or plastic shopping bags or even buying reusable ones.
I really like how you singled out plastic because it is so easy to repurpose plastic simply by melting it down and re forming it. We should develop more organizations for this purpose.
