Many things we use on a daily basis are thrown out or recycled immediately after serving one purpose. But, we could change this by reusing materials and getting creative with their uses. For example, when you purchase a plastic water bottle, you can use it more than once. Instead of throwing your water bottle away and buying a new one, you can refill it and continue to drink out of it. When you finish a jar of pickles or jelly, instead of disposing of the jar, you can wash it and use it for a different purpose. It could be used as a holder to store your writing utensils, or you could decorate it and use it as room decor. When you buy a package of printer paper, you can make sure to write on the back of the paper as well as the front to save paper. Also, instead of throwing away the packaging, you can reuse it. The packaging on printer paper is plastic and can be recycled to make plastic lumber used to make park benches, backyard decks, and fences.
