It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Reuse & Repurpose >
An Ecolifestyle
Recycling is a great way to keep our communities clean and sustainable. Repurposing these recycled materials into new products reduces waster production significantly. A great way to repurpose these materials is into clothing, accessories, or products for the home. Promoting businesses who do so is important so that they continue their work in repurposing recyclable material. In my town, there is a shop called hatch that sells many unique products from local eco-designers. They support reuse, recycling, fair trade and natural product use in all of the items they sell. In addition to eco friendly products their main focus is to share and inspire creativity within the community. Their slogan is "modern sustainable design". Another more well known company that works towards a more sustainable world through their products is Patagonia. Patagonia produces clothes meant to last a lifetime and if they need repair, the company will buy back the used clothes and recycle it to make new fabric. Their Common Threads Partnership helps reduce environmental impact significantly. They a lso were one of the first to use organic cotton in their clothing. Patagonia is also committed to working with Fair Trade factories in multiple countries. There are many other eco friendly companies that are not as recognized by the public. The clothing industry leaves a large footprint in our environment and these "green" businesses are working to promote a more sustainable future for fashion.
