It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Recycling
Everybody knows that our environment today is endangered, but very few people want to know why and how to cope with this problem. Various forms of pollution are happening due to some careless human actions. Littering is one of them. It can lead to water and air pollution, land and soil pollution, and to many other unwanted effects. Litter has become a serious environmental issue nowadays. Of course, the majority of normal people know that littering is a negative thing. People buy more and more unnecessary things every day, instead of reviving their old things. For example, instead of buying a new pair of shorts, we can simply shorten our old jeans. Or, instead of buying a new plastic bottle of water, we can simply refill the old one. People forget that plastic is highly harmful for the environment. In case they still buy many plastic bottles, they should at least recycle them. Every year millions of chemicals are thrown into water and air. The harm from littering can be prevented only by overcoming human ignorance. When people start reducing their litter, reusing and recycling their everyday items, our planet will become a better place to live.
I really enjoyed your post. I agree that educating people on ways to reuse and recycle items not only benefits the environment but is cost effective as well. One way that to reuse plastic two liter bottles is to fill them with water and place them upside down in your garden. The water drains nicely into the plants.
Chemicals from cigaret butt litter accounts for one in every five items collected during clean ups. This makes it the most prevalent litter on Earth. According to California Litter.org over 230,000 cigarette butts were collected from California beaches over a one day clean up. In a study preformed by Elli Slaughter from San Diego State University found that one cigarette butt with traces of tobacco on it when introduced to a liter of water resulted in high toxicity levels and the death of 50% of the fish in the water. Educating the public on proper disposal of their cigarette butts is very important to protecting the environment.
