It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

There is a lots of trash that can be used to help us out and our ecosystem, there are a lots of uses for the things that we disregard and believe is trash. For example we can use plastic bottles from sodas as little pots for gardening. Also you can make crafts from plastic bottles. There are so many uses for plastic things that we disregard that can become useful and could save the lives of wildlife that are affected by land fills. https://www.pinterest.com/explore/empty … c-bottles/
I agree that there is a lot of plastic that is simply wasted and thrown away once it no longer holds the content it was purchased for. Using plastic bottles as pots and for arts and crafts is a great idea. In addition to plastic bottles, we should be conscious of our use of plastic in general, as it is very harmful to the environment and wildlife. As stated in an article by seeturtles.org, because plastic bags are petroleum-based, they do biodegrade. Also according to the article, marine life such as sea turtles often mistake stray garbage in the ocean for food, like plastic bags as jellyfish. When the animals eat the plastic, is causes blockages in their digestive system, leading to death. To stop this pollution, we can reuse our plastic bags. The plastic grocery bags we get at the store can be reused the next time we shop so we do not obtain more of them. Also, we can use them to take our lunches to school if we do not buy lunch, and we can even encourage our younger siblings and friends to use them as trick-or-treating bags. Additionally, instead of constantly buying new Ziploc bags to package leftover food or food for our school lunches, we can save the Ziplocs and wash them out so they can be used again, just like we would reuse containers or plates and silverware. In this way, we will help by putting less plastic into the environment.
