It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Know how to recycle
When we recycle we should know how to recycle the right way. The right way is to fully use the object such as water bottles, paper, and cardboard. When we recycle cardboard we need to fold them them in a flat way so there can be more room in your bin. If the cardboard is wet than don't recycle it because it won't be useful anymore. When we recycle water bottles we are not supposed recycle the bottle caps because they aren't made of the same plastic of the water bottle. We can also recycle cans, but before we do we need to rinse them and crushing the cans isn't necessary because it will still be useful to recycle. Newspaper are very useful to recycle because it takes up 75,000 trees to produce one article to give out.
I think this is a very important thing that kids should be taught. I agree that recycling can have a very strong impact on the environment and kids should know what they are doing when they are recycling and what is happening when they aren't recycling.
I agree with you. I also believe that it is very important to know how to recycle different objects in different ways. Going off on your idea, I think the local community should do something to educate everyone on how to recycle used products in order to make recycling easier. There are a lot of people who know that it is important to recycle certain materials to protect the environment and reduce carbon footprint. But they will just simply throw the recyclable materials into the recycling bin and never think about whether the condition of the material or parts of the material is recyclable. I suggest the local government to do a "recycle manual" which includes the materials that are recyclable and a test for whether an object is good to recycle or its condition (wet or broken) forbids it from being recycled. Then the local government can pass these manuals to the communities in order to achieve the purpose of education on how to correctly recycle. Therefore, people would be able to protect the environment in the right way.
I think that is a really good point, especially because different areas have recycling plants with different recycling capacities. It is important to know what is recyclable in your area, and that some things that can be recycled in your area, might not be recyclable in other areas that access different recycling plants.
I agree that educating people on how to properly recycle is very important. I think one way to take this a step further, is from a young age teaching children to use reusable containers, and water bottles. This would be more of a change in lifestyle rather than a change in habit.
I totally agree with you that we should understand how to recycle the right way. However, besides to fully use the objects we are recycling, we should also consider the efficiency of recycling things. Sometimes, it would take more resources to recycle certain things than just throw them away and use new products. If so, we should definitely choose the most efficient method than merely recycling things for the sake of recycling. But recycling is actually very important. My carbon footprint increased a lot due to the waste of things in my home. Since we do not have the habit of recycling, we waste a lot of food and other resources at home.
