It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Reuse & Repurpose >
Fighting the Temptations.
Im lazy. I like to take shortcuts, but I can't take this approach towards reusing and repurposing because I know it will just be hearting the earth. In my life I try to find ways to reuse a plastic bag or to sort my trash and recycling the best I can. One way that I re-use plastic bags is that I store them. I have a container filled with plastic bags that have accumulated over the years. Rather than throwing them out, I store garbage in them, so I don't need to buy more plastic bags for garbage and can just throw them out. For shopping I have a reusable bag that I take with me every time shop.
It is small steps like these that can really affect the environment for the better.
Aaron that is a great idea. I reduce and reuse similarly to you, and I sometimes have to fight the urge to throw that crusty baggy away. My family keeps a container with all plastic bags in it, and we use them over and over. This way we don't have to spend money on new ones and we aren't contributing as much to the huge plastic waste problem.
I agree. I'm pretty lazy too and I'm not really one to go way out of my way to do something very dramatic, even if it helps the Earth. My family also does the thing with plastic bags and we have reusable bags for grocery shopping. What I'm probably the most guilty of is using plastic water bottles, because some mornings I'm just too rushed and have to grab a plastic bottle. However, they're really bad for the environment (the recycling rate for them is only about 23%), so I decided to just reuse the plastic bottles if I use them. I might grab a plastic bottle and put it in my swim bag, then just refill that the next day at the pool.
