It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Reusing lunch containers
A great purchase that can help keep your carbon footprint low is containers. Not needing to throw away constant trash can positively effect your carbon footprint. Reusing sandwich bags can also make a positive impact. If you are trying to reduce your carbon footprint and amount of trash you create, purchase reusable containers or reuse plastic bags and other items.
I agree disposable lunch bags and containers are further increasing the insane amount of trash that humans create every year. There is a land mass in the Pacific the size of 2 Texas-es. Then once we are creating all this garbage, we attempt to burn it which is releasing large amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere. With reusable lunch containers, we would not only be decreasing the amount of trash that we are producing, but we are decreasing the amount of CO2 releases into the atmosphere.
I agree with this post. At lunch, the school bought lunches come with nonreusable containers. Most kids don't even bother sorting them into the right bins. Bringing your own reusable containers to school is super efficient and an easy way to help the environment.
