It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Reusable Plastic
Plastic is an item we use everyday, but do we really need so much of it?
It is very cheap and good to use in many things, we can't completely eliminate it, but we can change what makes up it. Plastic is made from chemicals that mainly contain carbon, so if the chemicals were something biodegradable it would mean the plastic is less harmful to the environment. The sub could be corn, potatoes, or other plant-based chemical. This will reduce a large amount of soft floatie carbon and we can continue to use plastic.
This is a great solution that companies and manufacturers can make. Although, simply buying fewer items that contain single-use plastics is something that anyone can do. It's easy to use a reusable water bottle, reusable shopping bags, and other eco-friendly products since most manufacturers still don't use biodegradable plastics.
Plastic use is a serious problem for the environment, like you said it is very hard to degrade, the solution you provide is very great and smart, also we can help reduce plastic pollution our own action such as don't use plastic items, recycle daily use items, and purchase non-plastic products. Also we can use some "less-expansive" substitutes for plastic, like glass or fabric products.
