Reuse & Repurpose

It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Share your ideas for extending the “lives” of the items that we buy and use, and their packaging as well!

Reuse & Repurpose >

find a purpose for old things.

everyday items usually get thrown away after one use. I think we should reuse, donate or share leftover items. for example, old clothes can easily be donated to a family or person in need. we can reuse items such as grocery bags, plastic Tupperware containers, milk jugs, water bottles and more. although it make not be repurposed as it was intended to be used, we can find new ways to use things.

I agree wholeheartedly giving away something that you barely use yourself could be the best thing for someone who actually needs it. As they say, one mans trash is another man's treasure. The donated clothes and shoes could be the best thing about someone else's life making them more comfortable. I also agree on your idea of using household appliances as other things, to reuse them such as a grocery bag can be used more than once and a milk jug can now be a water jug after being used for its milk. Finding new ways to use things can help to lower our carbon footprint and to bring new ideas to our world if we have little to go off of.
I saw a similar idea with the milk jug being used a bird feeder and watering jug.  [Milk](//muut.com/u/footprint/s2/:footprint:aRS2:milk.jpg.jpg)

I agree with this so much. People need to realize that their purchases usually still have use in them even after we throw them out. If we as a society begin to realize that our items have more ways to be used before they're thrown out, we can all  lower our carbon footprint.

I agree. We should buy items that can be reused instead of objects we are going to discard after one use. Instead of throwing away the things we don't want anymore, we should give them to Goodwill. Like after reading a book, we can trade them to a used bookstore for credit. The book might not entertain us right now, but someone else might like it.

I absolutely agree with these ideas. There are many people who have too much stuff that they can barely keep track of it all. Things like clothing and shoes can be donated to someone who desperately needs them to make their life that much more comfortable. Instead of just discarding items we do not use or want anymore, we need to think about repurposing those items. If people start repurposing and reusing, we can all lower our carbon footprints. This website https://www.hgtv.com/design/decorating/ … e-pictures gives plenty of ideas for repurposing everyday items in your household. This is a great way to help lower your carbon footprint, while also getting creative and making something new and original out of simple materials you can find in your house.

I agree with both of these ideas. When we give away or donate things that we don't use or need, we are killing two birds with one stone. For one, we are giving things that we don't need to people who actually need them, and for two we are helping the environment by not having to buy new things all the time and use more resources (like carbon).
