It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Reuse & Repurpose >
Reuse whenever possible
Reusing and re purposing are two very simple steps that every person can take in order to prove their environment. One common example is reusing things like plastic and paper bags--in my family, we keep our plastic and paper, bags and reuse them for things such as trash bags, cleaning objects, or even art projects. Another thing that can easily be reused is containers--when we get take out or buy things from the store, we always try to reuse the containers they came in. We use the containers to store new food, small trinkets, and you can even use small containers to create travel size toiletry storage for traveling. We also use reusable water bottles, and plastic reusable containers instead of plastic bags. These are two steps that everyone can definitely take.
I agree that it is important to reuse whenever you can. My family resells and donates our old clothing, gives away old furniture instead of just throwing it away, and we sell or donate used books to book stores. In my family, we also use reusable bags instead of plastic, in addition, we reuse water. What with the draught, we are trying to find multiple uses for the same water. For example, when we boil pasta or vegetables, we let the water cool and pour it over our garden plants. Or, we use used water for our toilet water. I've calculated that we reuse about 5 or 6 gallons of water each day. Over a year, that saves about 1500 gallons. This is a great alternative to what a lot of people do, which is to pump water out of the ground, which uses up water in our aquifers. It also helps avoid needing to build new dams in Califonia. These are not just expensive, but they are bad for the fish population.

I think that reusing is very valuable and easy. For example there are many simple ways that you can save the environment by donating, or repurposing old clothes. Another great way to help the environment is use reusable water bottles. They are pretty affordable and convenient. It is also great to use reusable bags, they are convenient for shopping and a great way to help the environment. It is very easy and effective to reuse and repurpose whenever we can.
I do the same in my family. We always reuse plastic bags for trash and when shopping, we use reusable bags. Even though reusable bags might be expensive, it worth it because you are saving the environment and plastic bags over the time would end up costing more in total. In addition, I use reusable containers for my lunches at school and reuse plastics utensils altering washing them. What my family and I could do better with is bringing reusable containers to restaurants for our leftovers. this would decrease the amount of to-go boxes and containers, leading to helping the environment.
I also agree that is good reuse whenever possible. My family does the same we reuse the paper and plastic bags from the grocery stores. Me myself I reuse water bottles when possible. My mom also tries to give us our lunch in the reusable containers. My family also donates our cloth that no longer fit or ones we no longer want to goodwill instead of just throwing them away. Even though it a little extra work it does help our environment. Even though you are only one person you are still making a small positive impact on the environment and your community.
