It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Plastic
It’s a really crucial thing to reuse and/or recycle plastic. It’s easy to recycle empty plastic water bottles yourself by putting it in your recycling bin. If you are willing to go, you can also even get money for turning in the water bottles to a recycling stand. My family does this, as well as reusing plastic bags from the store as garbage can liners. It’s another extra use that can help you out when taking out the trash.
Unfortunately in our country it isn't a custom to get money for returning plastic bottles. But I think it would be agreat encouragement for people to partake in recycling.
I would completely agree. The importance of recycling should be majorly stressed, as it is an effective way to keep landfills from filling up with reusables, and thus greatly reduces waste versus throwing away reusables. According to https://www.scientificamerican.com/arti … worth-it/, Americans generate an estimated 254 million tons of trash, 84 million of which is either recycled or composted. This figure can be compared to saving 186 million metric tons of carbon emissions from being released into the atmosphere, helping our carbon output drastically.
If we continue to manage and sort our trash efficiently, and recycle / compost whenever possible, our carbon emissions could be reduced even further to save the health of our quickly declining environment.
I agree with you. We don't have to use plastic because it increases the pollution. But if we have to use it we should reuse and recycle it. I was impressed by the plastic island in the Pacific Ocean. The real problem isn't reusing the plastic but we shouldn't t use it at all. We can use other materials for example glass, ceramic, aluminum.
Some recyclable plastics have been invented, but they are still more difficult to recycle than other materials. Plastic straws are used everywhere, but I'm starting to see more places that only give one if you ask. We should use reusable straws to keep plastic out of our landfills. Additionally, try not to take plastic utensils from restaurants and pack lunch in a reusable box (which I do every day). However, recycling plastic is more difficult than saying it, as some are difficult to recycle and many recycling centers will not take it, but we should still try.
