It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Just one small change that can make a big difference
One very small change that we can all make that will make a huge positive impact on our environment is not using plastic water bottles, and buying a reusable water bottle instead. I learned a very scary fact from www.epa.gov, which was that more than 60 million plastic bottles are thrown away every year, therefore about 22 billion plastic bottles are thrown away every year around the world. Imagine how different those numbers, and our environment would be if we all had our own reusable water bottles. I have my own water bottle, and I know all of my friends have water bottles too. The average water bottle costs around $10-15, and one plastic bottle of water costs about $1-1.50. If the average person were to drink 800 bottles a year, which is about 2 a day, you would be saving as much as $1200 a year just by buying one reusable water bottle that you can have for the rest of your life. Using reusable water bottles might seem like a very small change in you busy life, but by doing this you are reducing the amount of plastic bottles you are drinking, and you are doing your part to saving the Earth.
Bravo and encore!! Also, at least in California, where I live, the quality of tap water is safer than bottled water in the sense that there are very few laws to govern the quality of bottled water but so many to govern the quality of tap water. Just one more reason to buy your own reusable bottle (once) and keep reusing. A pretty easy step to take to protect our planet.
I completely agree! I think that even if all we do is just doing small things it could make a much greater impact on this world. Water bottles is such an easy thing that only takes a few dollars and if we all can do this it would be huge for this world, it could help us reduce the impacts of climate change as well as help keep our oceans cleaner of plastic
I totally agree with what you say. People don't consider how small actions such as a simple water bottle purchase can harm the beautiful world around us. Another stat about plastic bottles is that according to Forbes, the world uses 1 million plastic bottles per second. In addition, 91% are thrown in the trash rather than being recycled. When so many people live on this earth, small actions add up.
I agree, if everyone makes one small change, there are approximately 7.53 billion people in the world, and if every single person makes a change toward lowering carbon emissions, we could make huge strides in lowering greenhouse gases. I think that a great way to reduce carbon emissions is to bring and reuse glass water bottles and not purchase plastic ones. Even small things like composting and recycling can contribute to a cleaner environment.
I definitely agree with you. In order for the world to stay healthy, everyone must do their part to make at least a small change in their life to help save the Earth from pollution and the rise of greenhouse gases. Working as a team is faster and more efficient than working alone, being the only one doing a small change. My family a few years ago used to throw away a large number of plastic bottles into whatever trash can we find, whether it is recycling or not. We resolved this issue buy not buying a bunch of plastic water bottles anymore, but instead have our own, reusable bottles that we always bring with us whenever we go out to work or when I go to school. Imagine how much plastic you would not waste if you were just to do a simple change like that.
I personally agree with you because the smallest and most minuscule change could have a massive effect on our society. As a community, we could do many things to help Mother Earth. We can reuse bottles for water however there is a huge array of things to reuse. For example, instead of using paper plates, you could use a plastic container that can be reused. Small changes mean a lot towards recycling however, the biggest changes will get optimal results. According to wastedive.com, the Center for the Circular Economy urged stockholders to invest in newer technologies that benefit waste management. This led to at least 60 technological providers to advance their innovations for a good solution. All of this stemmed from the urgency for investment. If we keep insisting upon events like this, we could start to solve our problems instead of creating new ones.
I agree with your statement that we should use less plastic bottles, but in addition I think our society should also emphasize recycling the plastic water bottles we do use. Recycling the plastic bottles allow them to be used again and not be thrown into the trash or the ocean. Here is a website that goes through what happens when we recycle water bottles: https://www.recycleandrecoverplastics.o … an-become/
