It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Composting
I think that one way we can make a big difference is by composting. This is because if you compost the nutrients in old food or paper can be used in future years to grow more food. Then you can take scraps from that food and compost it, so that it becomes a never ending cycle. This also reduces the amount of carbon we are putting into the atmosphere because now all that wasted food is just being reused again and again instead of burned.
Composting is a very easy thing to do that makes a HUGE difference. My father built a composting bin in our back yard about 2 years ago and now we compost everything from egg shells to banana peals, even paper towels and cardboard can be composted (If it is in small chunks). This has improved the quality of our gardens greatly and reduced the amount of trash us as a house hold produce. The compost bin took dad maybe 3 weeks (At most) to build but if no one you know is handy with construction then just buy a trash can put holes in it with a screw driver and then put it outside and fill it with compost, it works amazingly!!
