It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Reuse & Repurpose >
The Better Way
So many items can be reused and turned into new things that we don't have to go out and buy. Many people are so quick to buy things that they think are cute and trendy, but hardly any of us think about how this is affecting our earth. First of all the number one thing that you can do is find another way to recreate an item rather then going out and spending money on it. By recreating the items that you want to buy you are saving money, preventing more plastic to be placed in our environment, and you would not be releasing as much Carbon Dioxide into our atmosphere as you would with the original item. Reusing and Repurposing different items is a great way to help our world grow and we should all make an effort to try these methods out.
I agree, instead of going out and buying a whole new product you could instead simply repurpose or reuse something already inside your home. This way new materials do not need to be mined for and less pollutants enter the atmosphere. Also, using items form your home means less carbon dioxide is released from having to travel to different stores to find the right product or from shipping the new product to your doorstep. Repurposing and reusing is a fun and creative way to fulfill your needs, while reducing your carbon footprint.
I agree. Another way we can reduce is by buying clothes used, like from others or from thrift shops. Many shops sell barely used clothes that instead of being wasted could find a new home. By doing this, you save money and help reduce carbon. Instead of throwing away old clothes, consider donating them! This is a great way to help others and reduce wastefulness. This also minimizes the plastic and packaging involved with buying new clothes.
I think it’s extremely important to reuse materials and where ever possible reduce the use of single use items like plastics bags, utensils, and water bottles. If more people recycled then we would not need to continually use up the unsustainable raw materials that make these things.
I agree with all of you. If people could stop being so greedy and think about the bigger picture of helping theirselves and others it would amazingly improve our carbon footprint and help the earth, everyone, and everything
on it. It doesn’t take a lot of worlk if everyone would pitch in. People should start reusing more items, start recycling and composting, donating, and maybe even recreating items with old ones. It doesn’t take that much effort to turn of the water while brushing your teeth, turning of lights when you’re leaving a room, using less hot water, and just more blankets instead of a heater.
I agree, reusing and repurposeing items is very important. There are so many easy and simple ways for everyone to do this if they really want to. I like the idea of reusing and repurposing items like clothes and making your own items. In addition to that, I think there should be a world wide ban on plastic bags and plastic bottles. In the place where I live the surrounding towns have been starting to put bans on the use of plastic bags. I think that it should be a worldwide ban because it has seemed to make an improvement here and I believe it could make a difference worldwide as well. I also believe that there should be no more plastic bottles, we have seen what they have done to animals, especially those of the ocean, and shouldn’t that be enough to put a ban on them? I guess not since it hasn’t been done, but by doing this, it will help with carbon levels, pollution, and help save the ocean and it’s animals. Instead of having plastic water bottles, stores could have fill up stations for reuseable bottles, and if someone forgets their bottle, the store could sell reusable bottles, but have a ban on how many a customer can buy and how many times they forget their bottle.
I completely agree with you. Instead of buying so many plastic bottled waters, it would be so more sustainable for everyone to just use reusable water bottles. It's so much better for the environment to reuse anything that can be reused. Honestly, the UN should have a symposium to discuss the fate of the planet, and should make it an international law that the majority of items produced should be reusable.
