All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Plans to Reduce your Carbon Footprint
After taking the Carbon Footprint Challenge, many people were probably disappointed with their results and are not willing to compromise. People naturally love the luxury of flying in an airplane and buying nice shoes. Not everyone is going to make major lifestyle changes. That is not realistic. However, there are some minor changes one could make to reduce their carbon footprint. People could: take shorter showers, dry their clothes outside instead of using a dryer, not wash their dishes before they go in the dishwasher, carpool, and dry hair with a towel and not a dryer.

I agree, people definitely need to help out society by decreasing their carbon footprint. Yet it is not necessary for them to stop traveling, that would be unrealistic, but its the little things that make a difference. For example, lets say it became a law for people to cut their showers to less than ten minutes when most people showered in fifteen minutes. Most showers use up to eight gallons per minute, and if everyone is showering for five minutes less, each person would save 35 gallons of water. 35 gallons may not seem like much, but imagine everyone in the United States doing this, all 316.6 million people, saving 35 gallons each. Yes, thats a lot of water being saved, which could definitely can be used for better purposes.
This method of conserving and only using what’s needed can apply to other things too, such as carpooling. If everyone carpooled, the amount of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere could be cut in half. Therefore, its the little things that make a difference in society. There are so many ways to save water and release less harmful gasses into the a tmosphere, and if everyone cuts down their use of water and greenhouse gasses it could make a huge difference. For this reason, human society should try their best to lower their carbon footprint because it really does make a difference.
