Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

It's Time to Take Action

The main cause of climate change is humans and this should be changed through individuals and communities. Humans need to decrease the burning of fossil fuels since it's effecting everything around them causing soon to be unfixable changes. We all need to carpool at every opportunity, walk a short distance instead of the preferred  option of driving, compost, recycle, reuse, and many more ways that an individual can contribute to the undoing of climate change. Even the smallest action can cause a major reaction.
Even though individuals decreasing their carbon footprint will greatly help fix climate change, communities, cities, or even countries should help make changes. They should use natural energy instead of using coal, gas, or oil. For example, use solar panels, wind turbines, geothermal energy, hydroelectric power, or biofuels that don't release carbon dioxide. They should also have almost every single person fully informed about climate change and maybe do something creative and green like a community compost. Not only should communities try to help climate  change, manufactures should too. Packaging mainly uses plastic and is using too much of it; little objects come in huge packaging which can be easily reduced. When an item is delivered it usually comes with two different packages and some type of a cushion inside one of the packages. Also factories emit so much carbon dioxide when they could and should be emitting less by also using natural energy. If we still want to have this planet in good shape in future generations then now it's time to take action or else we will have an even bigger problem to deal with.

Many scientists have done research to show that the fossil fuel industry, greenhouse gases, deforestation, and things that humans do like using electricity all release CO2 into the air and cause climate change. It is obvious that humans have a huge impact on the Earth. I agree that if we want to help the Earth and fix the situation we've created, communities need to work together. The public should be more educated on climate change so they know what is causing it and how they can help stop it. If we want to help the Earth, we need to work together, educate others around us, and take action.
