All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Many of the world issues that we are hearing more and more about is climate change, its affect on humanity, and how we contribute to it. It is important that people are aware of this issue, because climate change effects are a very real threat to many. A few examples of these effects that are already occuring today include: "loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves" ( http://climate.nasa.gov/effects/ ).
To help prevent further climate change, decrease carbon dioxide production, and aid local communities that are trying to conserve, there must be organizations leading the way. WWF (World Wildlife Fund), is an organization whose mission is to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. WWF works in 100 countries, has 1.1 American supporters, and about 5 million world-wide supporters. WWF not only advances policies to help prevent climate change, but also assists businesses trying to reduce their carbon emissions, and helps people, the environment, and its inhabitants adapt to the changin g climate.     The world is changing rapidly, and the impending effects of climate change can be dangerous. A critical factor in addressing this problem is having organizations which communities that are trying to conserve resources, reduce carbon emissions, and adapt to the changing environment can look to for leadership.
