Cooler-burning Light Bulbs are Better for the Environment

grahameb

Honestly, I’ve never know much about light bulbs, so when someone told me replacing incandescent light bulbs with cooler-burning light bulbs such as LED light bulbs or compact fluorescent light bulbs would help the environment, I had no idea what that meant or how it would work, but I wanted to learn.  To learn more about this, I researched this and found out a lot.  Replacing these light bulbs saves energy and reduces waste, but it also does a lot more.  Incandescent light bulbs generate a lot of heat, so if an entire house had these, the cost of home cooling would be a lot higher than a house with cooler-burning light bulbs.  Cooler-burning light bulbs such as an Energy Star light bulb last about six times as long as an incandescent light bulb.  That reduces the amount of light bulbs thrown out when their use is done by a very wide margin.  Also, using cooler-burning light bulbs reduce the waste in packaging and disposal, and they reduce the pollution in manufacturing and transport.  Now I know a lot more of the effects of different light bulbs on the environment, and  that choosing cooler-burning bulbs is the best way to go.  To learn more about this, you can visit
