Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Carbon footprint decrease

Clattimore2

Many people around the world are not aware of the current epidemic that is plaguing our environment. Far too often I come across good people who take in interest trying to help the environment but aren't exactly sure what they can do. Ultimately what I want to do is spread the good word about how to make a difference. There are many ways to go about decreasing one's carbon footprint. What is easily becoming the most popular option recycling, just is not enough to completely change the damage that has been done to this planet. I have met people who want to start recycling themselves, but can't because where they live doesn't offer this service. In my opinion this is not only unacceptable, but getting the people who actually want to contribute involved, is crucial for better results in the future. Often I question how the government claims that it want's to help the environment, but yet is not making a move to offer recycling in as many places as possible. How can we expected to change when we aren't given the opportunity to? This is just one of the many things that keep p eople unaware of the damage that is being caused on the environment. Since it would seem we must act, educate, and take care of the planet ourselves, please take a look at this page if you have not already. I implore all who want a healthy planet for future generations to spread the word, as loud and as far as you can.
