All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Travel less
The transportation is the highest part of my carbon footprint, and I realized the flight is the reason of this. I didn't know that the air travel will cause that much CO2, it really surprised me. Since the quality of our life is getting better, people would like to travel by plane instead of the car or train, the number of outbound tourists are way more than the past few years. So I think the best solution for this is travel less or try not to go abroad.
Hi! My name is JJ, I'm form Guatemala.
I don't fully agree with you since I think that one of the big things that helped people notice that the environment was in danger is was the rise of Globalization. Globalization is defined as the interaction and integration of people, government and nations. How can we keep doing this is we do not travel. I think a better idea is to try to come up with a solution to reduce the amount of CO2 released by aircrafts. We can try to use other sources of energy instead of gasoline, which as we all noticed by our carbon footprint, damages deeply the environment.
Similar to your experience, the transportation section was also the largest section of my carbon footprint. However, I think that limiting air transportation may be unrealistic-- travelling provides new educational opportunities and experiences and is extremely valuable to our society today. Instead of travelling abroad less, we can look into ways of making all forms of transportation more sustainable (airplanes, cars, trains, etc.).
