Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Going on holiday

While I was calculating my carbon footprint, even before I saw the results, I realized how much useless things I do, that are very harmful for the hearth. Most of the polluting things I do have to do with transportation. I understood for example how much unhealthy for the planet had been my last flight: I didn't go very far (the flight didn't last more than 3 hours) but my carbon footprint, cause of that trip, increased much. After this observation I realized that it was the kind of thing I could easily stop doing, despite it had been a good experience.
I find we all should think a little bit before deciding where and how to go on holiday: there are so many nice places where to go, that we don't need to take the plane and do a long trip to have a nice holiday. We all Europeans want to go to the Usa, or to Japan, but if we think a little bit about it, I'm sure we can all realize, that there are so many nice things to see that are next to us. Selecting destinations for your Holiday that are close to our house would be really healthy for the planet. If it's possible, it's  better to go with less-polluting means of transport, for example by train: this option will minimize your pollution due to your trip.
Here are some websites I found helpful to do a more ecologic holiday:

So this is my biggest challenge, to reduce my carbon footprint: having less polluting holidays!

Hi, my name is paulina. I agree  with  you, most of the pollution in my carbon footprint was for the travel that i did in the year. I love travel and know other places, like their cultures, history, etc. One solution that I thoght is that, i live in mexico, this country is full of history and abundant with museums. i don`t know most of the museums of the place that i live and this is bad because i love travel to know the museums and the history of  other places. I had talk with my friends and family from this, and it is sad that I'm not the only. My purpose would be that in your vacations take advantage to know all the museums or the important places on the spot where you live, with this will reduce your carbon foootprint and you will not leave without knowing or having new experiences.
