All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Working on Carpooling
On my carbon footprint calculator, I by far exceeded my regional average in terms of transportation. This is because I drive everyday 10 miles to and from school, drive 30 miles to a from soccer practice three times a week, drive to soccer games on the weekend, and have to drive for social reasons. This is alot of driving every week, and I am going to start trying to cut down. I worry that people like me who need to drive alot dont think about the environment enough, and dont take the necessary steps to try to reduce driving and carbon footprint. To solve my driving problem, I would buy an electric car, but i dont have that much money. But instead, I am going to try to start carpooling to and from soccer and school. I think that this can really help. According to http://conservationmagazine.org/2014/09 … the-world/ carpooling can slowly change climate warming and eventually solve our major environmental problems. With the major amount of dr ivers in world, if we were globally able to make an effort to carpool more often, it wouId make a huge difference in our environmental change.
Carpooling is a great way to reduce the carbon emissions released into the environment. I will try and carpool more too. Also, my dad invested in an electric car to help reduce the pollution emitted into the air. Although we have 5 people in our family and it is only a 4- seater, we try and use it as much as we can to reduce the amount of pollution that is released in the air. According to http://www.conserve-energy-future.com/a … -cars.php, Electric cars are 100 percent eco-friendly as they run on electrically powered engines. It does not emit toxic gases or smoke in the environment as it runs on clean energy source. They are even better than hybrid cars as hybrids running on gas produce emissions. You’ll be contributing to a healthy and green climate. Using an electric car reduces your carbon footprint significantly and positively affects the economy.
