All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Coffee Causes Catastrophes
I don't about you, but I rely on coffee 99% of the time to get me through the week. Due to the amount of consumerism in our world today, coffee options are limitless. From instant to freshly ground, we have the beverage at our disposal any time of the day. Currently, coffee is the second most traded commodity, and the production of it is a multi-million dollar business. But have you ever wondered where your coffee comes from and it's effect on our environment? The overwhelming demand for coffee has caused an intrusion of many coffee growing regions, which are also homes to many wildlife. Coffee usually grows among other plants and habitats of various different animals. These plants and animals contribute to our ecosystem immensely, through the prevention of soil erosion. But, due to the high demand of the beverage, multiple ecosystems and forests have been torn down to make more room for the cultivation of plants through the use of the "sun cultivation" technique - which causes depletion of soil nutrients and the reduction of vegetation. Coffee cultivation also produces enormous amounts of waste, which ends up being transported into rivers and lakes, thus pollution our entire ecosystem. What are some ways we can prevent the risky environmental impact coffee is having, but still enjoy the delicious beverage?
Your thesis about coffee is intersting but I believe there are more bigger actions that we can do. I didn't know those facts about coffee, and this was very helpful!
I hadn't thought about the overproduction of coffee before. It would be really interesting to look into where all our food is grown since most of it is imported.
