Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Use Less Paper

karenhusa

Every year, Americans use more than 90 million tons of paper. http://www.theworldcounts.com/stories/Paper-Waste-Facts shows many facts about wasting paper. Remember, paper comes from trees so the more paper we use, the less trees we have. So much paper is produced for books, newspapers, magazines, etc. I suggest for you to read books online on a tablet or laptop. You can also read the news online or watch the news on tv instead of reading it on paper. A lot of paper is also made for homework. My school is very technology based so we do some of our homework on the computer. There are many ways to reduce paper pollution. Make sure to recycle paper. When buying new packs of paper, buy recycled paper. Try reusing your one sided papers.

I see your point, and I think that the recycle process is a good way to reduce the deforestation.
But the biggest way that I know to reduce paper pollution is simply by not using the trees ad a resource of cellulose!

You can find a lot of informations in this web-site about how better the hemp's plant is for producing paper!
For example only the 30% of a tree is cellulose (and it takes a lot of chemicals process to separate it) against the ~80% of cellulose in an hemp's plant
I posted something, like you, about this subject, if you are interested check it out!
