Unplug and power down

jordan-ham518

There are so many appliances around the house that stay plugged. These appliances consume a lot of energy. As stated in http://www.horizonservicesinc.com/blog- … ppliances, the average US household spends in excess of $2,000 each year just for electricity. By unplugging chargers, lamps toasters, coffee machines, laptops, and dvd players whenever they are not in use, you could lessen the amount of money you spend each year on electricity. You could also turn off lights and the tv when
you and your family are not using them.

Hello, I'm from Mexico, and in here is the same thing. Paying for electricity is way too expensive, and in my house we always turn off things when we are not using them, or if we are only using one thing at a time that is connected to a power source, we disconnect the other devices and just leave the one that we're using.
I think that if we start shutting down or use less our electronic devices will bring many good things for the environment and for economy.

Hello Gays, I'm pretty amazed at the cost for electricity in the US and Mexico. It's a good idea to unplug and power down. In addition, using a timer would certainly be  a very efficient way  to do this, because human beings don't always remember everything. However, somethings to keep in mind that perhaps you don't know is that for certain appliances it could be inconvenient to unplug and power down. For example the older routers take a long time to reconnect to the internet.
