All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!
Now It's Time for Action >
Action though Laws
The future in climate change is dependent on our generation. We must solve this issue before it is too late. While politicians debate walls between countries and different economic plans, the massive issue hurting everyone in the world is not prioritized. While people still believe it does not exist, many do understand it is real but is not effected enough for it to make a difference. People in developing countries fight in wars for water and battle natural disasters while people in developed countries continue to live a lavish lifestyle only adding more to climate change. How can the world work together to solve this issue before it is too late? International treaties such as the Paris conference prove to internationally make the most progress and I believe once countries enforce international laws, climate change can be appropriately addressed. Changing industry with laws will cause the biggest change.
I think that these international laws are important but will most likely make no change towards stopping big coal, oil, and gas companies.

These websites gives awesome (in the traditional sense) information about global warming and emissions. It says that around two thirds of carbon dioxide and methane dispersal into the atmosphere comes from the burning of fossil fuels such as brown and black coal. Companies such as Coal India and BP contribute immense amounts of carbon dioxide and methane to the Greenhouse Effect. No matter how much we want these ideas of global warming and climate change to go away we cannot even begin to prevent them without considering fossil fuels. A staggering 67% of generated energy in the USA comes from fossil fuels (coal, natural gases, and petroleum), but I'm not one to complain as in Australia around 83% of power comes from fossil fu els (mainly coal, as Victoria is rich in brown coal). These statistics are horrendously high and need to be reduced if we are to help put an end to one of the most pressing issues of our generation. Although solar panels and other renewable forms of electricity may be promising they are unaffordable to the middle and lower class and are often inefficient in many locations.
Please reply with any criticisms or opinions as I would be happy to respond.
