All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!
Now It's Time for Action >
Change!
After taking the carbon footprint quiz, I realized that I needed to cut down on a few things. Firstly, I have realized that I could change how I transport around places. For example, instead of just driving in a car with one other person, I could carpool much more with multiple people. Also, recently I have been flying a lot for trips or tournaments, so if I cut down on flying, and if I carpool more that would make my carbon footprint go down a lot. CO2 gas emissions affect our environment and the oxygen that we get, so if we bike or get to places in a cleaner way, we can help positively change the environment!
We are a lot alike! I travel a lot, including across the world since my dad lives in the Philippines. Also, I travel more than 10 miles to school every day which also releases a lot of carbon emissions! I was brainstorming ideas of ways to reduce my carbon footprint such as carpooling. In addition, when I go to college, I plan on taking the train instead of driving 3-4 hours to my house alone. Hopefully this will reduce my carbon footprint some, you should try soon!
I agree with both of you and on reducing the carbon footprint. If I were in your guys situation I would try and carpool and train and walk like you guys said. Also I would try and limit on global warming such as smoking if you guys do that.
