Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Easy changes

EllaVA

There are easy ways to reduce your carbon footprint such as turning off the water while you are brushing your teeth and turnin off the lights when you leave a room. Try to take shorter showers to save water and recycle or reuse plastic and paper. Also by watching how much packaging our food is bought in is a way to reduce how much you throw away. If you cannot decrease the amount of waste you throw away, at least you can do your best to sort the waste in the right bins. (compost, recycle, and landfill)

That's a good idea

Simple things like these help out way more than we think

I agree. Along with helping reduce our carbon footprint, these simple water changes can also help with the drought here in California. These changes can help our individual states and countries, but also the whole world.

I agree with Ella, accprding to Water Sense website, "Showering is one of the leading ways we use water in the home, accounting for nearly 17 percent of residential indoor water use." By installing low flow shower heads, the average household could save more than 2,900 gallons per year. Theses shower heads can easily be accessed at places like Lowes and Home Depot and will save alot of water every year.

This is a good idea Ella

In a perfect world, people would actually implement these words towards their daily lives. However, I doubt billionaires and other rich people would actually cut back because they either don't care or they know they can afford an expensive water bill.

I agree these things are really easy to do and would help reduce out carbon foot print. The ideas you gave are very helpful.
