All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!
Now It's Time for Action >
Making a Change
There are some simple actions that could reduce the lack of water in many countries. Simple things are shorter showers, and turning the water off when brushing your teeth. Some harder but more effective changes would be deciding to take the bus or carpooling with someone. Also for longer transportation taking the train instead of driving.
Reducing water is an excellent idea because all you all know we have a huge drought in California (Don't know where you live, so you may have more water). Adding on to your ideas, here are some of my methods to save water that my family has used before:
1) Take showers instead of baths, and also don't leave water running at the sink unless you are washing your hands
2) Buy succulent plants because they require less water, but also don't look that bad
3) Rinse out your glass/cup and use it a few times instead of drinking one drink and putting it into the sink. If you have 5 drinks of milk/juice at your house in a day and you use one cup for each then the amount of water needed to fill the dishwasher is higher than if you just used one or two cups
4) Get toilets that don't use as much water
5) If you have extra water from say, an old water bottle that may be to gross to drink, water plants with it rather than just dumping it down the drain.
