All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Food consumption
Usually I go out to eat with my family once every week. Of course there are some leftovers and I don't think much about it. I think I'm spoiled to think that if I don't take my leftovers home, nothing will change. But there is starvation happening all over the world. Even in the "wonderful" United States of America, there are low-paying jobs and homeless people.
I will cut down on going out to eat to once every month and I will try to volunteer more at local foodbanks.
Nice Hailey. We waste so much food in America and It is sad to see a country with an obesity problem and problem of hunger. We can address both. I volunteered at a food bank with my basketball teammates and it was a great way to give back.
This is very true! Most people we see as being hungry in our local community are the homeless but their are other also. At the local food banks in SF only 17% of the people who use the food banks are homeless. These people try and save every bit of food they get! Me and my family never take home leftovers when we go out to eat, and even when we stay atr home majority of the time the leftovers are thrown away to go sit in some landfill somewhere. I believe that me and my family should stop being so inconsiderate of what we have by throwing it away and either make less food or save all the scraps.
