All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

food waste & compost
People waste a lot of food. In fact, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations reported that "Per capita waste by consumers is between 95-115 kg a year in Europe and North America, while consumers in sub-Saharan Africa, south and south-eastern Asia, each throw away only 6-11 kg a year." With this troubling fact, one easy thing we can do is when we buy or take food in the first place, only take as much as you think you'll want. This can also lead to healthier eating, because sometimes we feel like we have to finish all of the food on our plate and end up over-eating. If you do have leftovers, put them in a container and save them if possible. You can eat them over the next couple of days and they'll probably taste just as good. When there is something that you have to throw away, make sure it goes to the compost, not the trash bin so it doesn't go to a landfill. You could also use food scraps to make a compost pile and convert food waste to rich a nd healthy soil. Use this soil to plant a garden and grow your own food to be more sustainable.
