All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

My Future Actions for Sustainability
Generally, I am very good at recycling, conserving resources, and promoting sustainability to my friends and family. Although I try to help the environment, I was absolutely shocked to see that my carbon footprint stood at nearly 45,000 kg! This astronomical number is as a result of the plane rides that I went on over the year; I traveled to South Africa and Maine. Despite the huge carbon footprint created by the plane, I am doing generally well, yet I can still improve. I have decided to try to ride my bike to a friend's house instead of driving my car and I will turn off the water when I "soap up" in the shower. Mother Nature Network posted "11 surprising facts that will change your water usage," and this article stated that getting a reduced-flow shower head can reduce water usage by up to 40%. As a result of this stunning fact, I spoke to my parents at dinner and I will be purchasing a reduced-flow shower head very soon. The path to sustainability is very long and it is built of habits, so one must begin slowly and increase steadily.
