All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Carpooling and Public Transportation
For over 2 centuries, cars have been an important form of transportation throughout the world. However, they are so often used that we may not think twice about the impact that they are making in our environment.
Cars release carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that, if too excessive, can become harmful to our environment. A 2013 study in the UK shows that 26% of all UK greenhouse gas emissions came from domestic and international transport.
I believe that one way people could reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere is to carpool and/or use public transportation. Although it may not always be efficient, it would certainly benefit the economy. It might even reduce the amount of traffic on the roads.
What do you all think? Should we start carpooling and using public transportation more frequently, or should we just continue to use our own personal vehicles?

I agree with you completely. We should start carpooling if we don't already. Personally, I carpool to school every day with two other girls. Over time, this decreases our carbon emissions significantly. According to http://planetsave.com/2012/11/08/five-u … ootprint/, carpooling to work or school everyday could cut your transportation emissions total in half, or even more. Carpooling can lower your carbon emissions, and your overall carbon footprint is decreased significantly when you carpool.
