Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Now It's Time for Action >

It is important to start doing something for our planet NOW

Everybody is talking about climate changing but it seems to me that we do little about it. It is time for all of us to be aware of the danger we cause to our planet simply by throwing on the ground materials like plastic or cans but unfortunatelly not all contries, especially the poor one, have this mentality or habit to do it. In my opinion mass media should be more involved in educating people about the importance of recycling materials and the authorities as well  put at least containers for garbage. As far as I know there are villages that does not have neither one.

Hi Anamaria! I think like you.
I believe that we should notice that we are destroying little by little the Earth. Furthermore, we must teach future generations to take care of the planet but we are unable to do it. So how will we do it?

How do you think we convince the media to start talking more about these issues?

anamaria2199

I think that should be the enviourment organization which must be more implied because they have much more power than us. We eventually could get out un the streets, protesting. However I believe that should be the authorities that provide specially in poor countries more garbage containers and pay more attencion to those who are not respecting the rules. Bye.

Hi Carmen!
Well good question. It really makes you think about it.Maybe the teachers should insist more in this issues ,even media must take measures and last but not the least we as their parents should teach them even if it is hard for us to do it because we were not educated like this and have different mentality.

In the US the media spends far more time reporting on entertainers than on climate change or on any other science topic. Our recent election was very disconcerting, but public outcry in response to Pres. Trump's initial actions is significant.

Hi Carmen. I think you're right, our teacher says we can't jump from planet to planet A, B, C etc. I think it's really important to save our planet, it's the only thing we've got and maybe in a thousand years scientists will find a way to live elsewhere. smile
