All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Electric Planes?
When looking at my carbon footprint, I noticed that airplane trips had emitted enormous amounts of carbon. Every aspect, except transportation, in my carbon footprint was below average, while the three across-the-globe flights made it multiple times more than the average of California. Airplanes are somewhat necessary for some of us, so not having flights is not an option.
Then, I thought, what if we could power the planes with electricity? Yet, according to Wright Electric on [independent.co.uk](http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/new … 46701.html), it is currently not possible to have electric planes as the batteries are not capable of storing enough energy. The company states, “We’d quickly use up all our energy at takeoff and never get anywhere.”
Yet, Wright Electric also states that they are currently developing an electric plane, with an improved battery, capable for flying 300 miles with 150 passengers. If this succeeds, short flights may be eco-friendly in a few years. This, however, will not solve the problem of plane emissions, since most flights are way over 300 miles. In order to have eco-friendly flights, there are still many improvements that have to be made.

I do not know if that is possible, but that would be a major jump in technology.
