All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

What I can do to reduce my carbon footprint
There are many ways for someone to reduce their carbon footprint. When calculating mine, I discovered that mine is way over the national and global average. This made me realize that there are many ways to reduce my footprint, especially in the transportation and home portion. To cut these aspects down I am willing to carpool more, fly less, get my family to switch to more energy efficient bulbs, air-dry more laundry, and even get them to cut down our use of heat in the winter months. I might struggle with getting them to do this because we have become very accustomed to certain ways of doing things. Maybe showing them the consequences our actions have will convince them to cut down our C0s emission.
I agree, I think there are many ways we can reduce our carbon footprint. When I calculated my footprint it was also higher than the average carbon footprint. After calculating it i knew i had to reduce my footprint. The main reason why my carbon footprint was so high because of transportation. To reduce this I am going to carpool more to practices or to school. Another way I can reduce my carbon footprint is eat less meat and use more energy efficient bulbs around the house. This may take some time but I will try. There are many ways we can reduce our carbon footprint.
I agree with this, and when I found out how high my carbon footprint was, I was very shocked to see. There are various ways we can do to reduce our carbon footprints, and personally for me, traveling was the thing that shot my carbon footprint up. Taking less flights, walking and biking to places, more energy efficient items in my house, etc. will help reduce my carbon footprint.
I like your plan to cut down on your energy use as a way to lessen your carbon footprint. I can see, too, that it may be a little difficult for your family to make changes right away, as the older generations who are in charge sometimes find it challenging to keep up with the pace of our world. My parents try to be good about certain things and are certainly conscious of environmental issues, but there's still plenty of room for improvement. Oftentimes, seeing the negative impacts of things is what finally motivates people to change their habits, so perhaps you, as well as others, could educate your families on what has occurred globally as a result of climate change and human actions. After seeing images, watching videos, or just learning the basic facts, you could then present alternative ways of doing things within your household.
Transportation will most often appear as your largest source of emissions because automobiles and planes release the most carbon dioxide into our atmosphere. However, the little things count as well. For example, we can, in most cases, bring our total emissions down to an average level simply by focusing on the little things like cutting down on meat, taking shorter showers, and buying used clothes.
